So I'm taking a parenting class...

...and I wanted to post a tribute to one of the best parents (besides my own!) that I know. My sister, Sarah! She has 3 beautiful girls and lovingly deals with them day after day. She always has the best little crafty things for them to do and the best snacky things to munch on when they are famished. I have also taken note of how she deals with discipline. She has the most passive way to get the point across to the girls. For example, here's Chloe...

Here she is angry at Sarah for trying to get things done around the house while ignoring her. Talk about passive discipline, here Sarah tries to ignore the bad behavior as she is no where to be seen.

Again, Chloe is still angry and has even gone into a coughing mode due to her incessant cries. Take note that she is still enjoying her Corn Pops.

Ahhh! The finished product! Chloe has managed to peacefully take a nap. You have witnessed a successful parenting style because the child has learned to manage without the parent, work through her anger, and fall asleep in the "begging for her life" position with her hands clasped. All is well!

Disclaimer: May I note that Sarah had everything to do with this. She was even the one taking the pictures.

Wow...thanks to you, I have realized what an amazing parent I am. I think I might even write a parenting book. I think the title should be,"A child never died from crying." That is my motto. Thanks for the laugh!

So what have you two been up to, besides harrassing little children? I think I will write a book and it will be titled..."Have two girls 7 years apart and they will become fast friends" One chapter will be about them calling their mom and acting like they are the other one. You don't need twins for that kind of fun!!!
Really, though, I can't tell how much you are joking.....Are you really taking a parenting class Cai? and did you guys set this all up at Chloe's expense?

Yes, I really am taking a parenting class, Mom. If you be good I might call you for advice when I write my paper. And no we did not set this up! Chloe was in fact angry and Sarah was trying to get things done around the house and my camera just happened to be sitting on the counter...

Is my new nickname Cai? How do you pronounce that?

Mom, You will never know exactly who is commenting on Blogger. It could be Sarah or it could be Caitlin. You see, we know each other's passwords. Muah ha ha ha ha!!!

Nice rendition of the story. You have a way with words. I say thank goodness for high chairs so that you can get something done without a child hanging on your pant leg.

I think I will start calling you Cai from now on. Cait or Caitlin is just too many letters to write.

WIll you teach me everything you learn in your class??

Jeff, I love your protectiveness. It hurts you to see little babies crying. YOu are just a big softie, and I am not talking about your muscles. Ha! I will be calling you soon because I have a lot of stuff I need to get done.

I'm guilty of that myself. Oh, well. The things you do in the name of a clean house!

I think that you would pronounce it like "Cobra Kai" from Karate Kid.

And I think that you could sum up the whole parenting fiasco with the following billboard:
