Deep in the heart of Texas

Back in March Wyatt and I went to Texas for almost 2 weeks to see Jeff and Alisha and their new boy Jeff Jr. This was Wyatt's first time flying. He did much better then I expected for a 3 month old. He was in the stage of not liking his car seat but he was enamored by the window in the plane. I laugh everytime I see this picture of him on the plane because it looks like he's watching a scary movie!

Jeff blessed Jr. in their backyard which was peaceful and quiet. Not to mention green and luscious. Jr. and Wyatt got to know each other a little better.

We did so many activities thanks to our tour guide, Jeff. I never really went to Austin when we lived in San Angelo and I haven't even been back to Texas since we left in 2002. It was great to see this city and how different it is compared to people's perceptions of Texas. Flat and dry vs. green and hilly. I went to my first hockey game. I loved it! Mainly because you can't hear when a baby is screaming and it's freezing in there so I loved not sweating for once.
Went to a botanical gardens. I don't know anything about flowers or plants but they were pretty and made for a nice scenery while nursing.
Saw downtown Austin and it's cityscape. The food was good and it made for some great people watching. That city's motto is "Keep Austin Weird." It pretty much works. I didn't capture any pictures due to a screaming baby but all you need to know is the legend of girls having big hair in Texas is the opposite here. It looks like all the girls jumped out of the shower, flipped their hair upside down and then got dressed in the dark. I had the biggest bump in my hair and I didn't even try.

I got to play with these cute girls. I miss them lots and I can't believe how much they have grown since I saw them before they moved in December.

Lots more family came in for the blessing and we saw the Capitol building while in downtown Austin. Pretty sweet!

Oops, random picture of me in Jeff and Alisha's hammock. I seriously could have slept in that thing.

My bosom buddy while I was there. I miss her dearly. We nursed in the House of Reps room. Ha.

All the doors have this great crown molding that is very unique and detailed

All the hinges in the Capitol have this bronze? detailing. And the dome has a star right in the middle.

I ate my weight in Rosa's tortillas and queso. Me and my friends would go there in high school.
I thought of all the Miller boys and their love for anything bread and how they would love the freshly made tortillas.
I got to meet up with my best friend Jazz. We haven't seen each other in 10 years. We were inseparable in Junior High and High School. We did competition choir, solo and ensemble tryouts, sang many duets, dressed up for all the spirit weeks and pretty much did everything together. She is now a singer/song writer and has a CD out. She has toured all over and her band is called Cowboy and Indian. She is also working on a solo album. She had a little girl name Ava a week after Wyatt. It was the cherry on top for the whole trip.

Whoa, I forgot that you used to have long hair...like a month ago. Texas looks amazing- more specifically that hammock in the back yard. Why do we live here again?
