meet my brothers

i thought i would talk about them for once...

when i said "hey i want a picture of all you guys"
this was the beginning of their reaction.
"ok where to do we stand? like this?"

from left to right:
ross age: 17 better be single, stan age: 27 single & looking ladies!, jeff age: 29 married 2 girls

adding their own flare to the picture...
i love my brothers. they kept me tough and protected growing up. they are funny and athletic and sensitive and handsome. i love how much they get along with ben.

on a different note:
i get my wisdom teeth extracted on tuesday. one of them finally broke through while the rest are burrowed nice and warm in my gums and jaw. they have been giving me a little bit of pain recently so it's nice to know they will be gone soon but i am still anxious about having the surgery. i have never been under the knife for anything much less had an IV line. at first i was going to have a 4th year dental student or a 1st year resident do the surgery at the school. then nate (my dentist/bro-in-law) showed my teeth to one of the doctors there & they saw that i qualified for a study that they were doing. it's at the Brotman Facial Pain Center at the school and the study is called the Evaluation of Behavioral and Molecular-Genetic Contributions to Pain Experience In Humans. they had me in for a screening appointment to make sure i understood everything about it and what they were studying. they didn't want me to think they were doping me up with some placebos and some random drug to see what happens. with my background in experiments and research i was very interested in actually reading about what results they are looking for and what coorelations they could find. i gave my consent for them to do a biopsy of my gums and take a sample of my dna for the genetic findings in the study. soooo in a nutshell, an oral surgeon is going to do my surgery, i will get free sedation, they have to monitor me afterward and they are going to still give me the discount as if a dental student were to do the surgery. oh and by the way they will be extracting all 4 of my widsom teeth! on that note, i will leave you with brian regan and his wisdom tooth tales... enjoy! be thinking of me on tuesday!

The BROTMAN FACIAL PAIN CENTER?!?! That sounds a little bit alarming.

In other news, you MUST search youtube for "Wisdom teeth wake up". It is quite likely the funniest video that I have seen all year! And I watch a lot of youtube. Sewiously, you guys.

good luck!!! you'll do fine, though. way to score on the free anesthesia. i spent about two week's salary on my wisdom teeth removal, mostly because of how expensive the anesthesia was.

That's great news! My friend had to save up for months for her surgery - no dental school near her. :( I'll have to bring you some of my Wisdom Tooth Soup. Good luck!

Oh, and for your brother, there are a ton of awesome girls in Athens, GA. There seem to be no decent guys down there. The UGA singles branch is very heavy on the ladies. Atlanta too, I think. I'm just saying...

:)

Good luck with the wisdom teeth. Jake and I were dating when I got mine out. He babied me and impressed my parents. But it stunk afterwards for a week and a half. For some people it is no big deal. I hope that is how it is for you. What happened to insurance these days? I wonder if they pay for anything anymore.
