Ben and I have been fortunate enough to have a few dates at the D.C. temple. Good thing we have directionally intelligent chaperones or we would've ended up in Maine or something. We did an evening session and then spent the night in the Xterra and did an early morning one. JK JK JK! These are two different occasions. The D.C. temple is quite a change from the Mesa temple. In the surrounding area leading up to it is kind of an animal preserve. Right now they are all sleeping and trying to stay warm, I bet. We hear that during the spring and summer deers, rabbits, and all sorts of hoppity furry life will frequent that area. It's 7 stories and has some cool stained glass along the stairwell. As you're driving up to is on the freeway it just pops out of nowhere! They've actually had to dim the lights on it because at night it was so bright to the point where it actually caused wrecks. On the news they use it as a reference point to describe the flow of traffic. Kind of funny. Its a very beautiful temple but nothing beats the memories made in Mesa :)

i'm a little jealous...the DC temple is by far my favorite one...it's operated in such a more relaxed way than many others....all the workers are just so delighted to have people come....and the best is that you get to hold hands with your husband!!!
and yes it is true....sam almost hit a little deer while we were pulling out of the parking lot this summer....
Wow, it is pretty there...I remember the DC temple from when I went there in fifth grade.
That is hilarious about the lights. They should have some missionaries park out there at night to tell people why they wrecked.
Because you guys are so close to NY and Palmyra you are more than welcome to stay with the family when you visit Palmyra. It is about a 45 min to and hour drive depending on how fast you are going. There is plenty of extra room for you guys to stay as well. During the summer is the best time to be here, during pageant and when everything is in bloom.
Yeah, I am excited to check your blog now! We're glad you guys are here in MD with us!
Gorgeous! I am so happy for your experience. That temple is massive looking. Glad you are taking the opportunity to take advantage of the temple. Cute pics Cai.
Love you both
MOMMA
The only problem that I have with the temple that you failed to mention is that they don't have change for a ten for hungry girls that are trying to buy food from the vending machines. Other than that, its perfect. And don't worry, one of these days you'll get to sit by Ben and hold his hand.
I can't wait to visit The DC temple. Good for you guys!
Cute pics! Keep the posts coming, it's fun to see what you've been up to. I sent you an email.
Caitlin! Where is your coat?! And why do your legs look soooo cold? Ben's all covered up and you are so freezing! A nice hug just ain't gonna keep you warm!
I am really jealous, when we were back there all we had time to do was walk through the visitors center. We will definitly have to take in a session next time. We love seeing the pics of all the fun you two are having. Enjoy yourselves and keep up the great blogging. Love mom and dad miller
